Is Jenny Working?

I haven't been able to figure out if Jenny is working in Arizona yet. I remember from the series that her old job was quite a drive from her parents' house, so she would probably need to find a new job. This really shouldn't be a problem for her, as an experienced, licensed physician's assistant, especially with the aging population in Arizona.
I guess I can understand her taking a little while to "get acclimated" but she really needs to get into a routine, and the kids need to have stability. I am pretty sure she will not be able to count on Bryan for half of the children's expenses, so she is going to be the primary financial provider for her kids. (Like most custodial parents quickly realize, financially, the non-custodial parent doesn't cover the food bill, let alone half....) Her parents will probably end up paying more towards the care of the kids than Bryan does.

Again, I really hope that Jenny, with the help of her parents, can provide for and raise the kids without selling their childhoods on television. No, she won't get vacations to North Carolina, Hawaii or Mexico, but she will be able to go to the Grand Canyon and take the kids to a McDonald's playland. No, she won't get weekly manicures, but she can take out the polish and spend some quality time with her girls, doing nails. No, she won't have a bodyguard or 24 hour nannies, but she will have her parents to love and support her. No, she won't have a huge mansion, complete with caretakers, but she does have a safe place for her children with a yard to ride bikes, play and swim, even if it's a baby pool in the backyard.

Unlike "that other divorced family of sextuplets on tv", she seems to really enjoy her children. I think that once she adjusts to the decrease in income, she will come to enjoy the privacy and little moments with her kids. She and her family can watch them grow, learn and marvel at who they are as individuals, in a simple life away from the chaos.

Godspeed, Jenny. We are rooting for you to do this on your own, with your family by your side.

What Scares Me About Divorce

Let me start this with I absolutely, positively am FOR Jenny leaving Bryan. He is a ticking time bomb and, if the 911 calls are accurate, he was trying to leave with three of the kids and four guns. Also, if the information is correct, Jenny and the kids are with her parents, so she is in a good position to "start over"... she could find a job and her parents could help her with the kids at least until they are in school.

But what scares me is that IF Jenny files for divorce, Bryan will likely get unsupervised visitation with the kids. He will be angry about "losing" Jenny and he will likely have a temporary order for child support. If he was willing to use the kids as "leverage" during an argument, what would he be willing to do when he has even more on the line, like his perception of his life falling apart?

Bryan has professed to have political ambitions. Although those seem far fetched to most people, I honestly believe that Bryan believes he has a chance of becoming a career politician. He already blamed Jenny (on the show) for quashing his dreams. So he will certainly blame her for ruining his political future. Will this put her at risk for more violence? Will he try to hurt her by hurting the kids? What will Bryan do if he feels like he has nothing left to lose?

Here is an article that appeared in "The Daily Beast" last May. It seems to scream out Bryan to me. I hope I am wrong, but he has the signs of a father who would kill his children just so that Jenny couldn't have them, or to hurt her. He also seems like the type who would kill himself to avoid prison.

And....the problem is that Bryan likely WOULD get unsupervised visitation. It seems that unless a father has actually harmed a child, he does indeed get unsupervised visits.

I am not saying I have any answers for Jenny, because I don't. But if she does file for divorce, I would absolutely implore her to fight HARD for supervised visitation. And I honestly believe that if she files for divorce, she is in for a rough time with Bryan. Even if he never cares to see the kids again, he will fight hard for "his rights", if only to irritate Jenny. He is already claiming that the AZ police "violated his rights" by arresting him. I can only imagine how he will feel if Jenny files for divorce.

And I hope I am wrong on every single thing I just wrote.

There are no words....but I guess I'll try.
While watching, I said aloud, twice, "I wish I could hit him in the head!" My husband just turned to me and laughed. I am not a violent person, but Bryan brings out some major loathing. When he overreacted and locked Bailey in the bathroom?! He is just a pig. My heart broke a little when we realized she'd peed herself because she was so scared....and then Asshat says "It's your fault!" to Jenny. Seriously?
I am so sick of his smug rolling of the eyes for the camera. He is not adorable. He is not worthy of any sympathy from the viewers. He is loathsome and useless to the level of being a menace. He doesn't help with the dinner or distract the children while Jenny cooks, but he is able to jump in and take over the punishment (which was already being addressed).....and causes Jenny to have to change and clean Bailey because he caused her to pee herself. Yes, he is a menace.

The sadness in Jenny's Mother's face was pretty deep. She knows what a jerk Asshat is and she's majorly bummin' that she has to leave her grandchildren in his clutches.
I shudder to think about his fight with Jenny's Dad. I get the feeling Asshat "debates" immediately escalate and he thinks he wins when people get sick of him and walk away. He has no respect for anyone, and his fake smiles and "laughs" are simply a cover for his lack of self-awareness.

When I told my husband how much people on the internet hate Bryan, he said "Yes, and we only see him when the cameras are on!" Indeed.

As my Mother used to say "Better alone than with bad company." It's not too late for Jenny to take that advice. So what if she leaves him to raise the children with her family? She'll not have his bad influence on the children and they can move on to living life. Hopefully, he will be consistent and will selfishly never visit the children and will let Jenny and her family get on with raising the children, not being distracted by his hissyfits.
